Agencies have taken important steps to advance TSMO programs and planning while implementing action plans to advance TSMO objectives. In February 2020, the FHWA's Organizing for TSMO Peer Exchange brought together a diverse set of State and local peers to share valuable information about their agencies' experiences with advancing and implementing TSMO. In addition to staff from FHWA, representatives from 15 organizations participated in the peer exchange, including 12 State departments of transportation, two metropolitan planning organizations and one regional transportation commission. Several key takeaways came out of the peer exchange under the broad themes of institutionalizing TSMO, TSMO readiness and TSMO implementation.
