Cambridge Systematics is a leader in identifying the technical and organizational challenges of asset management, and in developing the tools and solutions to overcome those challenges. As part of this work, we developed TransAM, the industry’s first open-source platform for managing transportation assets. TransAM pulls data from existing systems to create a comprehensive repository, while simultaneously establishing a roadmap for future capital expenditures by allocating funds to capital projects.
With increasing demands on local transportation, consumers and transit agencies need better coordinated, comprehensive mobility options. Mobility management, a strategic approach to service coordination and customer service, is gaining interest worldwide in the public transportation sector. When implemented, it will move transit agencies away from their roles as fixed-route service operators, and toward collaboration with other transportation providers.
Transit agencies can live and die by the experience of their consumers. When their riders know about their transit options, and about the real time arrival of their transportation, they more easily can plan their trips.
