NBIAS
National Bridge Investment Analysis System
NBIAS is a powerful modeling and analysis tool that predicts needs for bridge maintenance, improvement, and replacement across the U.S. Used by the FHWA to support development of its national bridge investment strategy, NBIAS forecasts more than 50 measures of bridge performance over a multi-year period for a range of budgeting levels.
NBIAS simplifies bridge capital analysis with its robust modeling tools, demonstrates the impact of budget alternatives with graphical and tabular displays, and quantifies the budget levels required to achieve specific performance targets.
NBIAS enables “what if” analysis, forecasting how the condition of the national bridge network will vary based on different levels of investment. The system will also quantify the annual budget level required to hit a specified target level for a selected performance measure.
Recent releases of NBIAS have added support for bridge-level analysis, the ability to import element-level data or state-specific cost adjustment factors, and new analytic models that allow users to choose how aggressive NBIAS will be in maintaining bridge health.
